Clear Air Mountain House Retreat & Workshop

Join us for our first Dykes with Drills retreat & workshop

On June 14th, 15th & 16th we will be spending the weekend at the Clear Air Mountain House in the town of Sierra City, CA (scent free, chemical free, fragrance free) completing stairs and railing for an outdoor deck, and enjoying the Yuba river and mountain area.

This is a great retreat for:

- LGBTQI identified folks, with an emphasis on “dykes”

- People with no (or a lot, or anywhere in between) experience in building and construction using power tools.

- People who are open to the fragrance-free lifestyle!

- People who love hanging with LGBTQI builders

- People who are interested in enjoying the Yuba river/sierras for the weekend

Max is 10 participants, so sign up now! (see below)

We will work on the deck half days (4 hours) - learning and building for the Clear Air Mountain House. The other half of the day we will be outside hanging out at the river or local trails (PCT), waterfalls or maybe even the nearby sierra hot springs.

Camping or staying in a room with beds (shared lodging with comfy beds, bedding provided). Please bring all of your own camping gear: tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, etc.)

Healthy food will be provided and all food allergies and preferences will be accommodated. There is space in coolers for any items you must have ;-)

To go on this particular retreat, due to the nature of the lodging, participants must go through a cleansing of fragrances using water and perhaps some Dr. Bronners in advance of arrival. This involves washing everything that is brought (including yourself) in fragrance free soap or baking soda.

Fragrance free products - sunscreen, lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner are available for use for free at the Clear Air Mountain House.  More instruction on this will come with sign up.

$150-200 Sliding scale, with scholarships available for those unable to pay more than $75 (scholarship available for POC and Trans people).

$75 for work trade involving chemical-free cleaning (with the option to stay until Monday).

The above rates include food, lodging or camping, and instruction!

We ask for help with meal prep, clean up and other teamwork moments. This is a mostly volunteer organized and led weekend and we ask for at least 1-2 hrs per person.
